Trading Statistics June 2013

Stockholm, July 1 2013 – NASDAQ OMX today publishes monthly trade statistics for the Nordic1 and Baltic2 markets. Below follows a summary of the statistics for June 2013:

• The share trading increased by 18.1 % to a daily average of 2.347bn EUR, compared to 1.987bn EUR in June 2012. Compared to the previous month, May 2013, the daily average increased by 5.6 %.

• Derivatives trading increased by 10.1 % to a daily average of 555,737 contracts, compared with 504,917 contracts in June 2012.

• ETF trading3 (Exchange Traded Funds) decreased by 15.0 % to a daily average of 55.6m EUR compared to 65.4m EUR in June 2012.

• Nordea Bank AB was the most traded stock during the past month, followed by Novo Nordisk A/S.

• Merrill Lynch was the most active member during the past month, followed by SEB.

• NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in our listed stocks4 decreased to 65.8%, compared to 67.2% previous month.     

• NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in Norwegian listed shares5 decreased to 10.5 % compared to 11.5 % the previous month.

• The average order book depth on the best price level was larger at NASDAQ OMX Nordic  than the second most liquid trading venue, see detailed figures per exchange:

          - For OMXC20 companies 2.6 larger

          - For OMXH25 companies 2.7 larger

          - For OMXS30 companies 2.1 larger

• NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s average time at EBBO6 (European Best Bid and Offer) was:

          - For OMXC20 companies 89.3 %

          - For OMXH25 companies 86.6 %

          - For OMXS30 companies 91.0 %
