Stockholm, September 2, 2013 – NASDAQ OMX today publishes monthly trade statistics for the Nordic1 and Baltic2 markets. Below follows a summary of the statistics for August 2013:
- The share trading increased by 14.0 % to a daily average of 1.838bn EUR, compared to 1.612bn EUR in August 2012. Compared to the previous month, July 2013, the daily average increased by 5.9 %.
- Derivatives trading decreased by 16.5 % to a daily average of 364,742 contracts, compared with 436,735 contracts in August 2012.
- ETF trading3 (Exchange Traded Funds) decreased by 7.3 % to a daily average of 36.8m EUR compared to 39.7m EUR in August 2012.
- Novo Nordisk was the most traded stock during the past month, followed by Nordea Bank AB.
- Merrill Lynch was the most active member during the past month, followed by SEB.
- NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in our listed stocks4 increased to 65.3%, compared to 63.8% previous month.
- NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in Norwegian listed shares5 increased to 10.1 % compared to 9.7 % the previous month.
- The average order book depth on the best price level was larger at NASDAQ OMX Nordic than the second most liquid trading venue, see detailed figures per exchange:
- For OMXC20 companies 2.5 larger
- For OMXH25 companies 2.4 larger
- For OMXS30 companies 1.8 larger

- For OMXC20 companies 89.7 %
- For OMXH25 companies 84.8 %
