About The Sylvia Center:

The Sylvia Center is a farm to table program that inspires children to eat well through hands-on learning experiences on the farm and in the kitchen. Our seasonal curriculum has been developed to provide the knowledge and structure to enable our Chefs and Chef Assistants to effectively deliver our programs in the NY Communities we serve.

The Sylvia Center will host its annual benefit event, The Art of Cooking, on Tuesday, October 15th at Sotheby's Auction House.  The Art of Cooking will honor Rachael Ray and her Yum-o! Organization, and the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City, which collaborated to provide the funding and political wherewithal to help launch The Sylvia Center's Cooks for Health program for youth, teens and families in New York City Housing Authority  (NYCHA) Community Centers. TSC's Cooks for Health is now operating in seven NYCHA centers in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx and reaches over 2,000 children and teens each year.  For more information, please visit:
