Stockholm Stock Exchange offers more efficient futures trading in OMXS30

Published

Stockholm Stock Exchange offers more efficient futures trading in OMXS30 Today, the OMXS30 future, one of Stockholm Stock Exchanges most traded derivative contracts, becomes a daily settled contract. The change is an adaptation to international standards. It will result in more efficient asset management among investors and is one of OMX Exchanges efforts to attract investors to the Nordic and Baltic region. In brief, the change means that the OMXS30-future will undergo daily cash settlement, rather than the previous situation of settlement on the closing date. The main benefits derived from daily settlement are that asset management will become more efficient and that the futures can be offset during their term. The future is expected to become more liquid and have a higher turnover because international adaptation will make trading by international investors easier and more attractive.
