About St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude immediately and freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. St. Jude pays for costs of travel, food and lodging for every patient and a parent. Eighty-four cents of every dollar St. Jude receives goes to research and treatment. St. Jude pioneered treatment for the most common form of leukemia that has brought the survival rate from 4 percent in 1962 to more than 90 percent today. St. Jude recently discovered a way to lessen side effects, making radiation treatment more effective for virtually all cancers. St Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fund-raising organization. For more information, please visit www.stjude.org.
