NXP Semiconductors Presides Over NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell

A representation of NXP Semiconductors' management team today presides over the NASDAQ opening bell to celebrate the company's initial public offering (IPO), trading under the ticker symbol NXPI. A technology leader in High Performance Mixed Signal solutions, NXP's IPO is one of the largest IPOs across any U.S. exchange in 2010 to date with $476 million raised.

"The IPO represents a key milestone and will strengthen the business by enabling us to further reduce debt and improve our capital structure," said Richard Clemmer, President and CEO, NXP Semiconductors. "We are delighted to have completed our IPO against a backdrop of challenging market conditions and the response from equity investors is testament to the turnaround and significant progress that NXP has accomplished. This has been made possible thanks to hard work, excellent relationship with customers and suppliers and the global NXP team's commitment to driving design wins through a customer-focused passion to win. We are delighted to welcome a new set of investors as well as increased investments from some of our directors and executives. Going forward we will be focused on extending leadership in High Performance Mixed Signal, supported by a strong Standard Products business."

NASDAQ IPOs have raised more than $4.32 Billion in proceeds year-to-date, as NASDAQ has captured 44 initial public offerings across a wide variety of sectors. Other distinguished companies who have recently listed on NASDAQ include: CBOE Holdings (Nasdaq:CBOE), which raised more than $339.3 Million in proceeds, and Tesla Motors (Nasdaq:TSLA), the first automotive industry IPO in 54 years.
