NetApp & The St. Baldrick's Foundation to Ring The NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell

Published

ADVISORY, March 12, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

What:

NetApp, a provider of innovative storage and data management solutions, and the St. Baldrick's Foundation will visit the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square to ring the closing bell. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers. Since 2000 the foundation has raised more than $120 million.

2012 marks the sixth consecutive year that NetApp has supported St. Baldrick's; last year it raised more than $1 million, becoming the first corporate sponsor of the foundation to reach that milestone. NetApp has a vision to build a model company and to deliver the best possible results for the communities it serves by living a core set of values. NetApp's support of St. Baldrick's is a great example of this vision and is an expression of the company's commitment to volunteerism.

In honor of NetApp and the St. Baldrick's Foundation's continued commitment to this cause in 2012, Bill Hogan and Joey Santamorena from NetApp and John Bender, founder of the St. Baldrick's Foundation, will ring the Closing Bell.

About the St. Baldrick's Foundation:

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. St. Baldrick's funds are granted to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world and to younger professionals who will be the experts of tomorrow. Funds awarded also enable hundreds of local institutions to participate in national pediatric cancer clinical trials, a child's best hope for a cure. Since the Foundation's first grants as an independent charity in 2005, St. Baldrick's has funded more than $78 million in childhood cancer research.
