NASDAQ OMX introduces a new portfolio index for the Swedish equity market

July 1, 2009Press Release NASDAQ OMX introduces a new portfolio index for the Swedish equity market Stockholm, July 1, 2009 NASDAQ OMX Nordic, part of The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ) today introduced the OMX Stockholm 60 Index. The index includes the 60 most actively traded stocks listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm. “The OMX Stockholm 60 index (OMXS60) is our latest addition to our wide selection of premier Swedish indexes and includes 60 of the largest and most traded companies on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm. OMXS60 includes highly liquid companies and enables investors to cost efficient track the performance of the Swedish equity market. The index is free float adjusted to replicate the shares available in the market and reduce transaction costs,” said NASDAQ OMX Global Index Groups Vice President Magdalena Hartman. The OMXS60 is a free float market capitalization weighted index, based on the OMXS30 index rules and revised semiannually in July and December. The stocks included are selected on the basis of historical turnover figures to ensure high liquidity. It is calculated in 60 second intervals and began calculation with a value of 100.00 on December 30, 2005. The launch of the OMX Stockholm 60 Index also includes the launch of the OMX Stockholm 30 NEXT Index which together with the wellknown OMXS30 Index represents the constituents of the new OMXS60 Index.
