July 2006 statistics from OMX, the Nordic Exchange

July 2006 statistics from OMX, the Nordic Exchange July saw the highest equity trading activity at the OMX exchanges ever. Summer months are usually characterized by a low trading activity, but this July was very active compared to the same period of previous years. The number of trades increased by 18 percent to 93,000 trades per day compared to last July (79,000). The daily turnover also increased by EUR 30 million amounting to EUR 2,812 million. Trading in July on OMX, the Nordic Exchange The value of average daily share trading amounted to EUR 2,812 million (during the past 12-month period: EUR 3,734 million). The average number of trades per business day amounted to 93,260 (during the past 12-month period: 109,012). The average daily trading volume in Swedish, Finnish and Danish equity and fixed-income derivative products amounted to 400,335 contracts (during the past 12-month period: 540,378).
