About Health eVillages

Health eVillages, a program of the not-for-profit Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights and Aptus Health, provides state-of-the-art mobile health technology including medical reference, clinical decision support resources and healthcare training material to medical professionals in the most challenging clinical environments around the world.  Our vision is to empower clinicians and other healthcare workers in the most challenging, underserved clinical environments, with information that will help them save lives.

iPads, iPhones and Android tablets and phones are used to house various healthcare and educational apps and content. Content includes medical reference guides, treatment protocols, drug dosage calculators and interaction guides, patient education videos, clinician training modules and more. They customize the content and apps both for the area of the world and for the user’s education or specialty level. They then train the clinicians to use the technology and the content effectively in their own communities. Best of all, once the content is loaded on the device, no internet access is needed to use it. In fact, with small solar charging panels, clinics without electricity can use the Health eVillages mobile tools and technology.

Currently, Health eVillages has projects in Haiti, Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda, India, rural Louisiana and rural Maine.  See more about their work at
