The Greater New York City Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to Ring the NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell

What: Nancy Comer, Interim Executive Director of The Greater New York City Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation will preside over the closing bell in honor of the Komen New York City Race for the Cure. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure(r) Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrating breast cancer survivorship and honoring those who have lost their battle with the disease. With funds raised by the Komen Race for the Cure(r) Series, the Komen Foundation with its Affiliate Network is able to fund breast cancer research grants, meritorious awards and educational, scientific and community outreach programs around the world. Since its origination in Dallas in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure(r) Series has grown from one local Race with 800 participants to a series of more than 100 Races with more than one million people expected to participate in 2005.
