Higher rates- and yet still higher prices. Despite the recent jump in mortgage rates, a 30-year loan now averages 4.75 percent, prices for U.S. single family homes rose 12.4 percent year over year according to the S&P/Case Shiller July index- that's the strongest in more than seven years! But S&P's David Blitzer says too much of a good thing- is just not good.
