Peruvian Police Run Over Citizens During Protest
A police vehicle ran over a woman and her two children in Cajamarca, Peru on Monday (April 16), enraging local citizens already battling with authorities as they protest the massive Conga mine project. Video from a security camera showed the police vehicle swerving up onto a sidewalk and running over a woman and her two daughters. The woman, who local news outlets identified as 31-year-old Juana Beatriz Ponce Garcia, was rushed to the hospital.
