History was made in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s race, and to do it, Ken Thompson had to defeat Charles Hynes twice. District Attorney elections after often considered lifetime appointments. In Brooklyn, a sitting DA has not been defeated since 1911 – until now. On Tuesday former federal prosecutor Ken Thompson defeated incumbent Charles Hynes by what was looking like a landslide. Leading by a 72% to 28% margin with 80% of precincts counted.
