Suntory-Beam Deal Highlights Enduring Thirst for Expansion - Presented by: The Aol. On Network

Japan Inc quenching its thirst for foreign companies. This time, it's beverage maker Suntory splashing out nearly $14 billion in cash to acquire U.S. spirits company Beam, which would be Japan's third-largest outbound deal of all time and will catapult Suntory into the world's top three spirits makers. Investors seem to like the idea. Listed subsidiary Suntory Beverage & Food shot up after the announcement, far outperforming the market.
