Shocked Shopper: Woman Struck By Lightning Inside Store - Presented by: The Aol. On Network

A Houma woman is lucky to be alive after getting struck by lightning while she was paying for her groceries. The lightning bold struck 33-year-old Lakeisha Brooks inside Rouses Food at 561 Grand Callou Road in Houma. Officers said Brooks was standing by the checkout register buying groceries when it happened. They believe that the bolt of lightning came through the roof’s sprinkler system, struck a metal plate on the floor, and then hit the woman.
