French President Francois Hollande began his two-day visit to German Chancellor Angela Merkel's constituency with a boat ride on the Baltic Sea on Friday. After Hollande's arrival in the town of Sassnitz on the island of Ruegen, the two leaders boarded a boat which took them to the port of Binz, some 10 kilometers further south. The island of Ruegen, in Germany's former east and close to the border with Poland, is a popular holiday resort with Germans; with chalk cliffs as its landmark.
