Deadlock continues... Republican lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives met on Tuesday to a find their way out of a fiscal impasse. They floated a plan to reopen the federal government, partially shut down since October 1. But the party rank and file rejected it, raising questions about what the House can pass. House Speaker John Boehner: "There are a lot of opinions about what direction to go. There have been no decisions about exactly what we will do."
