Carcinogenic Chemical Found in 98 Shampoos - Presented by: The Aol. On Network

A Californian watchdog group found 98 different shampoo products tested positive for high levels of a potential carcinogen. The Center for Environmental Health is filing four lawsuits and issuing over 100 legal notices after finding significant amounts of cocamide DEA, a chemical banned in California for its cancer-causing risk. The CEH using the chemical puts consumers at risk of developing cancer; however, the Food and Drug Administration has not recognized cocamide DEA as a carcinogen.
