3.5% That's how much retail sales rose during the holiday season, according to MasterCard Advisors SpendingPulse . Declining store traffic in recent weeks and uneven demand has spurred retailers to risk earnings by boosting offers to generate revenue. Electronics sales were about the same as last year, while women's and men's apparel fell, the researcher said.
