Description:The Utilities Select Sector SPDR Fund seeks to provide investment results that, before expenses, correspond generally to the price and yield performance of publicly traded equity securities of companies in the Utilities Select Sector Index. The Index includes companies from the following industries: electric utilities; multi-utilities; independent power producers & energy traders; and gas utilities. The Index is one of nine Select Sector Indexes developed and maintained in accordance with the following criteria: (1) each of the component securities in the Index is a constituent company of the S&P 500 Index; (2) each stock in the S&P 500 Index is allocated to one and only one of the Select Sector Indexes; and (3) the Index is calculated by the New York Stock Exchange%u2019s Index Services Group using a modified %u201Cmarket capitalization%u201D methodology. Under normal market conditions, the Fund generally invests substantially all, but at least 95%, of its total assets in the securities comprising the Index.
