With headquarters in Southern California, The Ryland Group, Inc., a Maryland corporation (the "Company"), is one of the nation's largest homebuilders and a mortgage-finance company. The Company is traded on the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") under the symbol "RYL." Founded in 1967, the Company has built more than 295,000 homes. In addition, Ryland Mortgage Company and its subsidiaries and RMC Mortgage Corporation (collectively referred to as "RMC") have provided mortgage financing and related services for more than 245,000 homebuyers. The Company consists of six operating business segments: four geographically-determined homebuilding regions; financial services; and corporate. All of the Company's business is conducted and located in the United States.
