PrivateBancorp, Inc. ("PrivateBancorp," we or the "Company"), was incorporated in Delaware in 1989 and became a holding company registered under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, as amended. The PrivateBank and Trust Company (the "Bank" or the "PrivateBank"), the bank subsidiary of PrivateBancorp, was opened in Chicago in 1991. The Bank provides customized business and personal financial services to middle market companies and business owners, executives, entrepreneurs and families in all the markets and communities it serves. Beginning in late 2007, we hired a team of experienced middle market bankers and, under the leadership of our current chief executive officer, initiated a strategic plan to transform the organization into a leading middle market commercial bank.  ...
