New Jersey Resources Corporation is a New Jersey corporation formed in 1981 pursuant to a corporate reorganization. The Company is an energy services holding company whose principal business is the distribution of natural gas through a regulated utility, and which provides other retail and wholesale energy services to customers and invests in midstream assets. The Company is an exempt holding company under section 1263 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. NJR's subsidiaries and businesses include: New Jersey Natural Gas Company, a local natural gas distribution company that provides regulated retail natural gas service to approximately 512,300 residential and commercial customers in central and northern New Jersey and participates in the off-system sales and capacity release markets.
