Mexco Energy Corporation, a Colorado corporation, is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of oil and gas properties located in the United States. Incorporated in April 1972 under the name Miller Oil Company, the Company changed its name to Mexco Energy Corporation effective April 30, 1980. At that time, the shareholders of the Company also approved amendments to the Articles of Incorporation resulting in a one-for-fifty reverse stock split of the Company's common stock. On February 25, 1997, Mexco Energy Corporation acquired all of the issued and outstanding stock of Forman Energy Corporation, a New York corporation also engaged in oil and gas exploration and development. In April 2004, Mexco Energy Corporation formed OBTX, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. Since its date of formation, OBTX, LLC has been included in the consolidated financial statements.
