LifePoint Hospitals, Inc., a Delaware corporation, acting through its subsidiaries, operates general acute care hospitals primarily in non-urban communities in the United States (“U.S.”). Unless the context otherwise requires, LifePoint and its subsidiaries are referred to herein as “LifePoint,” the “Company,” “we,” “our” or “us.” At December 31, 2012, on a consolidated basis, we operated 56 hospital campuses in 19 states, having a total of 6,581 licensed beds. We generate revenue primarily through hospital services offered at our facilities.
