We are a leading global producer of styrenic block copolymers ("SBCs") and other engineered polymers. SBCs are highly-engineered synthetic elastomers, which we invented and commercialized almost 50 years ago. We developed the first USBC polymers in 1964 and the first HSBC polymers in the late 1960s. Our SBCs enhance the performance of numerous products by imparting greater flexibility, resilience, strength, durability and processability. Our polymers are typically formulated or compounded with other products to achieve improved, customer-specific performance characteristics in a variety of applications. We seek to maximize the value of our product portfolio by emphasizing complex or specialized polymers and innovations that yield higher margins than more commoditized products.
