When we refer to “we,” “our,” and “us” in this report, we mean HPCI. We were organized under Ohio law in 1992 and designated as a REIT in 1998. Our principal business objective is to acquire, hold, and manage mortgage assets and other authorized investments that will generate net income for distribution to our shareholders. The mortgage assets presently held by us are participation interests in loans secured by commercial and residential real estate that were acquired from the Bank. Two related parties, HPCII and Holdings, own our common stock. HPCII and Holdings are direct or indirect subsidiaries of the Bank, a national banking association organized under the laws of the United States and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
