Forest Laboratories, Inc. and its subsidiaries (“the Company” or “Forest”) develop, manufacture and sell branded forms of ethical drug products most of which require a physician's prescription. Our most important United States products are marketed directly, or “detailed,” to physicians by our salesforces. We emphasize detailing to physicians of those branded ethical drugs which we believe have the most benefit to patients and potential for growth. We also focus on the development and introduction of new products, including products developed in collaboration with licensing partners. Our products include those developed by us and those acquired from other pharmaceutical companies and integrated into our marketing and distribution systems.
