First Community Corporation (the "Company"), a bank holding company registered under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, was incorporated under the laws of South Carolina in 1994 primarily to own and control all of the capital stock of First Community Bank (the "Bank"), which commenced operations in August 1995. The Bank's primary federal regulator is the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the "FDIC"). The Bank is also regulated and examined by the South Carolina Board of Financial Institutions (the "S.C. Board"). On September 26, 2014, the Bank completed its acquisition of approximately $40 million in deposits and $8.7 million in loans from First South Bank ("First South"). This represented all of the deposits and a portion of the loans at First South's Columbia, South Carolina banking office located at 1333 Main Street.
