Dynegy began operations in 1984 and became incorporated in the State of Delaware in 2007. We are a holding company and conduct substantially all of our business operations through our subsidiaries. Our primary business is the production and sale of electric energy, capacity and ancillary services from our fleet of twelve operating power plants in six states totaling approximately 9,800 MW of generating capacity, which excludes the 1,700 MW of generating capacity of our DNE generation facilities that were deconsolidated effective October 1, 2012, and are under agreement to be sold. We sell electric energy, capacity and ancillary services on a wholesale basis from our power generation facilities. Energy is the actual output of electricity and is measured in MWh.
