DryShips Inc., (NASDAQ: DRYS) was incorporated in 2004 under the laws of Marshall Islands and has its principal offices in Greece. It is an owner and operator of drybulk carriers that operate worldwide. Dryships vessels are able to trade worldwide in on a multitude of trade routes carrying a wide range of cargoes for a number of industries. Commodities transported by the company consist of major bulks, which include iron ore, coal, and grain, and minor bulks such as bauxite, phosphate and steel products. DryShips currently owns a fleet of 27 drybulk carriers with a total carrying capacity of 2.3 million deadweight tons (dwt) and consists of 4 Capesize carriers, 21 Panamax carriers and 2 Handymax carriers with an average age of 10 years.
