Casey’s General Stores, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiaries (the Company/Casey’s/we) operate convenience stores under the name “Casey’s General Store” in 14 Midwestern states, primarily in Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois. The stores carry a broad selection of food (including freshly prepared foods such as pizza, donuts, and sandwiches), beverages, tobacco products, health and beauty aids, automotive products, and other nonfood items. In addition, all Casey’s stores offer gasoline for sale on a self-service basis. Our fiscal year runs from May 1 through April 30 of each year. On April 30, 2013, there were a total of 1,749 stores in operation. There were 31 stores newly constructed and 26 acquired stores opened in fiscal 2013, and seven stores were closed in fiscal 2013. We operate a central warehouse, Casey’s Distribution Center, adjacent to our corporate headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa, through which we supply grocery and general merchandise items to our stores. ...
