("Franklin") is a holding company that, together with its various subsidiaries (collectively, the "Company"), is referred to as Franklin Templeton Investments ®, a global investment management organization offering investment choices under the Franklin ®, Templeton®, Mutual Series®, Bissett ®, Fiduciary(TM) and Darby® brand names. Franklin is regulated as a bank holding company under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, as amended (the "BHC Act"), and has elected to be a financial holding company under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (the "GLB Act"). The common stock of Franklin is traded on the New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") under the ticker symbol "BEN", and is included in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index. In this report, words such as "we", "us", "our" and similar terms refer to the Company.
