Sarah Jane Brain Foundation Rings the Closing Bell
January 8, 2009 - Sarah Jane Brain Foundation
About this Marketsite Event:
Patrick B. Donohue, Esq., Founder of the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation, presides over the Closing Bell.

About Sarah Jane Brain Foundation:

The Sarah Jane Brain Foundation was started by Patrick Donohue, father of Sarah Jane Donohue, who was violently shaken by her baby nurse when she was just five days old, sustaining a massive brain injury. Sarah Jane is three years old now and cannot walk, talk, crawl, chew solid food or even sit up on her own. The Sarah Jane Brain Project aims to help all children like Sarah Jane who suffer from Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury by creating a model system -- something that has never been done before in medical history! Brain injury is the number one cause of death and disability for children in the United States and includes all traumatic causes such as falls, motor vehicle (MV) accidents, being struck by an object, violence/assault, sports incidents, gunshot wounds, and non-MV bicycle accidents, plus non-traumatic brain injuries such as those caused by brain tumors, strokes, meningitis, insufficient oxygen, poisoning, ischemia and substance abuse.

The January 8th ceremonial ringing of the Closing Bell at NASDAQ will signal the official launch of the first-ever National Pediatric Acquired Brain Injury Plan.
