May 05, 2008 - World Science Festival
About this Marketsite Event:
Brian Greene and Tracy Day, Co-Founders of the World Science Festival, and actor Alan Alda, preside over the Closing bell in Times Square to proclaim New York City as a global capital of science.

About World Science Festival:

The World Science Festival, which will take place from May 29 to June 1, comprises 40 public events over four days throughout New York City, all intended to shine a bright light on science. More than a dozen Nobel Laureates will participate.

The Festival is designed to highlight the role of science in our daily lives, underscore New York City's role as a global capital of science (as much as it is a capital of publishing, finance, the arts, and cuisine), and offer serious science education for everyone from elementary school children to adults.

The first annual World Science Festival will take place in New York City from May 28-June 1, 2008. The festival is a production of the Science Festival Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in New York City co-founded by Brian Greene and Tracy Day.
