Ambassador Christoph Bubb, Consul General of Switzerland in New York, presides over the Closing bell.
Born in 1952, Ambassador Bubb graduated from the law faculty of the University of Zurich in 1976 and obtained an LL.M degree at the London School of Economics in 1978. After court practice at a district court in Zurich and being Assistant at the International Public Law Department of Zurich University, he passed the bar examination in 1981.
In 1982 he entered the diplomatic service of Switzerland and was subsequently posted in Rome, Berne, Baghdad, Berlin, Bonn and Washington, before returning to Berne in 1999, where he was appointed Deputy Head of the Political Division I (Europe, Northern America). In
2001 he was appointed Head of the International Law, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Division in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
In 2003 he was appointed Deputy Director for International Public Law and in 2007 Consul General of Switzerland in New York.
