Marie Wilson, Founder and President of the White House Project and Dr. Ruth B Cowan, Advisor to the Council of Women World Leaders, preside over the opening bell in honor of the first-ever International Women Leaders Global Security Summit in New York City.
This international conference will feature current and former women heads-of-state and more than 70 high-level women leaders representing over 30 nations from -- Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America -- who will tackle the world's most pressing security issues including terrorism, economic inequality and climate change.
The Summit will be held from November 15-17, and is the largest-ever gathering in the United States of women leaders on security issues. The Summit is a project of The Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands in partnership with The White House Project, the Council of Women World Leaders and the Women Leaders Intercultural Forum.
