Solar 1 is dedicated to inspiring New Yorkers to become environmentally responsible urban residents. It embraces this mission through environmental science education, access to sustainable arts performances, energy conservation using its own solar-powered building as a prototype, and through other means to help New Yorkers develop a sense of stewardship for New York City, for themselves and for their neighborhoods.
