Dick Rivera, Chairman of the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and Celebrity Chef, Cat Cora preside over the closing bell ceremony along with companies in the food and restaurant industry participating in NASDAQ's inaugural Food and Restaurant Industry Forum at the NASDAQ MarketSite.
Founded in 1919, the National Restaurant Association is the leading business association for the restaurant industry. The association's mission is to represent, educate and promote a rapidly growing industry that is comprised of 935,000 restaurant and foodservice outlets employing 12.8 million people.
In 2005, world renowned chef, Cat Cora made television history on Food Network's Iron Chef America as the first and only female Iron Chef, and in November 2006 Bon Appetit Magazine bestowed her with their Teacher of the Year Award. She was also recently named Executive Chef of the magazine.
The NASDAQ Food and Industry Forum on Wednesday, August 1st is being organized in collaboration with the NRA and will focus on industry trends within the Food and Restaurant industry.
