Wayne Gretzky, Boomer Esiason and Tim Baxter, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics North America preside over the opening bell in honor of Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope raising $1 million for children and family charities including the Wayne Gretzky Foundation and the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope is about kids. It's about using the power of a brand to give something back to the community, with the goal of improving the quality of life for children and families across the nation who face major challenges.

Samsung is dedicated to meeting the needs of these children and their families through an aggressive partnership with elite athletes, print publications and channel partners.

Now in its sixth year, Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope is an innovative philanthropy program that combines the forces of major national retailers with various community-based foundations and charities headed by some of this country's best-known sports, music and civic personalities. Samsung pledges to raise national awareness and funds for these outstanding charities, and to identify how others can also make a difference in the lives of these children and families.

Those involved include basketball's Earvin "Magic" Johnson, football's Dan Marino and Boomer Esiason, baseball's Joe Torre, golf's Arnold Palmer, hockey great Wayne Gretzky and former NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Samsung's retail partners Best Buy, Sears, Circuit City and CompUSA, each develop and execute unique retail programs to raise money and awareness to improve the quality of life for children and their families. To date, Samsung's Four Seasons of Hope program has raised more than $8.5 million for its charities and is highly recognized for its achievements.
