New York Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney is a national leader with extensive accomplishments on security, financial services, the economy and women's issues. She also has been a force representing the interests of the City of New York in Congress from the time she entered, in 1993.
In the 110th Congress, Maloney became Chair of the House Financial Service Committee's Financial Institutions Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over the nation's banking system. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also appointed her Vice Chair of the Joint Economic Committee, a House and Senate panel that examines and addresses the nation's most pressing economic issues. In addition, Maloney is a senior member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
In November 1997, Vito Fossella was elected to Congress in a special election to represent the 13th Congressional District of New York, including Staten Island and the Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst and Gravesend neighborhoods of Brooklyn.
Vito serves as a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
Among his top legislative priorities, Vito is leading efforts to reduce taxes, strengthen our national security, protect Social Security and Medicare and improve education.
In addition to Congresswoman Maloney and Congressman Fossella, NASDAQ is hosting Members of the New York House of Representatives including Congressmen Edolphus Towns (D-NY/10), Eliot Engel (D-NY/17), Gregory Meeks (D-NY/ 6), Tom Reynolds I(R-NY/26), Joe Crowley (D-NY/7), and Michael Arcuri (D-NY/24). The members will meet with New York-based companies to discuss issues related to competition and the global marketplace.
