Founded in 1812, New York City Mission Society is dedicated to preparing New York City's young people to become fulfilled, productive members of their communities. Our cutting-edge programs serve nearly 6,400 of the city's most underserved children and families; of that number, almost 3,000 students attend New York City Mission Society after-school programs in Harlem, Brooklyn and the South Bronx.

New York City Mission Society provides a seamless continuity of service to support and nourish youth at every stage of their development and works holistically with their families to prevent children from being placed in foster care, one of the biggest causes of homelessness among young people as they age out of the system.
