The Beginning with Children Foundation was founded in 1989 by Joe and Carol Reich as a vehicle to support education reform in New York City. Through unique public/private partnerships with Pfizer, the United Federation of Teachers, the New York City Department of Education, and countless community organizations, BwCF serves as institutional partner to two charter schools -- Beginning with Children Charter School and Community Partnership Charter School -- that are models of high-quality education in an urban environment. BwCF has been instrumental in paving the way for the success of other charter schools city- and statewide.
