US Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta will preside over the opening bell and will be immediately available to media to discuss the need for more private investment in the nation's transportation network.

Congestion is one of the single largest threats to our economy. Under Secretary Norm Mineta's leadership, the Department of Transportation has launched a new national policy initiative to reduce congestion in America. This new effort provides a single plan for federal, state and local officials to follow to get more out of our current transportation network and find new ways to add more roads, build new runways, and expand port capacity.

Following Secretary Mineta's opening of the NASDAQ market he will discuss the Administration's new policy initiative to reduce congestion in America's transportation network. The Secretary will outline the urgent need to tackle congestion, discuss his plans to begin the fight and address the need for more public-private financing partnerships.
