Ross Alfieri, President of the New York Chapter of the Arthritis
Foundation, presides over the closing bell in honor of National
Arthritis Month.
The Arthritis Foundation is the only national voluntary health agency
addressing the more than 100 forms of arthritis and related diseases. Its
mission is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control,
and cure of arthritis and related diseases. The New York Chapter, a
founding Chapter formed in 1948, accomplishes this mission through
offering programs, information, and services; supporting arthritis-related
research; fostering professional education; and promoting public awareness
of arthritis and its various forms. The Chapter serves all five New York
City boroughs and the counties of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland,
Orange, Sullivan and Ulster.
