Major Guy Klemanski, General Secretary for The Salvation Army of Greater New York and Commissioner William Francis, International Secretary for the Americas, preside over the opening bell. The Salvation Army of Greater New York is a religious and charitable organization serving the needs of men, women and children in New York City and nine surrounding counties. The organization's mission is to provide programs and services that lead to long-term solutions to such social ills as homelessness, poverty, addiction and hunger.
