The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. hosts a special opening bell ceremony and press briefing in honor of World AIDS Day. Surgeon General, Vice Admiral Richard H. Carmona, M.D. presides over the opening bell. Joining the Surgeon General at the podium are senior officials of NASDAQ Listed Companies, from second left, Mr. Ronan O'Caoimh, CEO, Trinity Biotech plc, Mr. Paul Maddon, CEO, Progenics Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Mr. Douglas Michels, CEO, OraSure Technologies, Inc., Ms. Nancy Chang, CEO, Tanox, Inc., Surgeon General Carmona and Mr. Joshua Boger, CEO, Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc., who are leading important product and research efforts largely focused on the AIDS virus.
