LONDON, June 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Willis Group Holdings (NYSE:WSH), the global risk adviser, insurance and reinsurance broker, has reinforced its position as a leading risk adviser and insurance broker for the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector with the appointment of new regional leaders for North America and Europe.

Willis has appointed Tom Srail as TMT Industry leader for North America and Fredrik Motzfeldt as TMT Industry leader for Europe. Srail and Motzfeldt both report to Sara Benolken, Global Head of Willis's TMT Industry.

Motzfeldt, who previously held senior leadership roles within both Jardine Lloyd Thompson's and Marsh & McLennan's communications, technology and media practices, has worked in the insurance and risk management industry for over 24 years, helping TMT companies in the UK, Europe and North America manage and finance their global risk exposures.

Srail joined Willis in 2004 and since then has specialised in advising multinational clients, particularly in the media sector, on professional liability and cyber risks. Prior to joining Willis Srail served as vice president and broker in the Cyber and Errors and Omissions (E&O) team at Marsh & McLennan. He was recently designated a "Power Broker" by leading trade journal, Risk & Insurance.

Commenting on the appointments, Benolken said: "Both Tom and Fredrik are veterans of the technology and telecoms industries as well as risk and insurance experts. With more than forty years of experience between them helping clients in the TMT sector manage global risk exposures they are both uniquely qualified for these new leadership roles. These two appointments mark another key milestone for Willis in our effort to build a truly global TMT industry team with a crystal-clear focus on the distinct challenges facing this vibrant sector. By leveraging our deep industry expertise and insights Willis will continue to provide clients with finely-tuned risk management solutions for the many and interrelated risks that they face."

Motzfeldt commented: "I am delighted to join the Willis TMT team under Sara's leadership. Technology, media and telecommunications firms are among the fastest paced and most dynamic organisations in the world and therefore demand equally innovative risk management solutions. I look forward to working ever more closely with Willis's TMT clients to help them overcome their complex traditional and emerging risks."

Srail added: "Willis's leading industry knowledge and analytical capabilities are a major boon for TMT clients. I look forward to leveraging Willis's unique set of skills to provide clients with clearer risk insights and even more creative solutions."
