ONS Achieves 500% Increase in Subscribers by Joining GovDelivery Network and Applying GovDelivery Best Practices
LONDON, Oct. 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GovDelivery announced that the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has reported outstanding subscriber growth and engagement after implementing GovDelivery's digital communications platform and connecting to the GovDelivery Network. Facing challenges in attracting new stakeholders, the ONS implemented the GovDelivery platform to drive awareness of the statistics it produces to stakeholders throughout the UK.
Initially using a private sector email alerting company, ONS was not satisfied with the results of its outreach efforts. ONS then turned to GovDelivery, which offered dramatic referral power through its Network as well as proven best practices in audience building. Halfway through its six-month pilot, ONS has already increased its following by over 500%, growing its audience from 1,000 to more than 5,500 subscribers.
"We engaged GovDelivery to help us get more stakeholders to sign up for alerts," said Robert Chambers, Digital Content Manager, ONS. "In just a short time, the GovDelivery Network has become invaluable in helping us build a following, which is critical to our success. The more subscribers we have, the more we will increase awareness of our outputs and traffic to the website, which goes a long way in managing our reputation. GovDelivery has proven to be an excellent partner in helping us achieve our goals."
The GovDelivery Network currently connects more than 60 local and central government authorities, and with more than 2.5 million UK subscribers connecting to government through GovDelivery, access to the Network boosts an organisation's outreach dramatically.
"As we saw the subscriber numbers grow almost instantaneously, we knew that the GovDelivery platform could easily help us achieve the outreach we wanted. With the Network, we could gain subscribers without doing anything. We quickly moved forward to secure a full contract even before our six-month pilot ended," noted Alison Davies, Web Analytics Manager and GovDelivery administrator, ONS.
"We congratulate ONS on its commitment to connecting with stakeholders and the outstanding results it has achieved to date in growing its audience," said Dave Worsell, Director of Government Solutions at GovDelivery. "We're proud to continue to help government agencies leverage the power of digital communications to reach more people, more effectively and efficiently than ever before."
